Zelenskyy announced a reset of the Armed Forces leadership

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the reset of the Armed Forces leadership and thanked General Valerii Zaluzhnyi for two years of defence of Ukraine as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi was assigned as the new commander.

“I am grateful to General Zaluzhnyi for two years of defense. I am grateful for every victory we have achieved together, and thanks to all Ukrainian warriors who heroically bear the brunt of this war,” said the President of Ukraine in his address.

Zelenskyу and Zaluzhnyі discussed the renewal of the Armed Forces. Starting today, a reset command headed by the new Commander-in-Chief, General Oleksandr Syrskyі, will take over the Armed Forces’ leadership. 

Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi will present the team for resetting the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the coming days.

“He has successful experience in defense — conducting the Kyiv defense operation. And he has a successful experience of offense as well — the Kharkiv liberation operation,” shared the President about the Colonel General.

The President has offered Zaluzhnyi to remain in the team.
