Russia attacks Ukraine with missiles on New Year’s Eve

On December 31, Russia launched more than 20 rockets on Ukraine. It has become one of the most destructive attacks in a long time. Civilians were killed and dozens were injured in several regions.

As of 16.30: 12 out of more than 20 Russian missiles launched at Ukraine were shut down by air defence.

Kyiv is the most affected place. The rubbles from destroyed air targets hit hotels, private houses, schools, kindergarten, and a concert hall. One elder man died. 20 were injured, including a journalist from Japan.

In the Khmelnytskyi region, seven people were injured, three of them — in critical condition.

In Mykolaiv, six people were injured, three of them hospitalised.

In Zaporizhzhia, an attack destroyed two private houses, about eight houses were damaged. Among the injured — a pregnant woman and a teenage girl.
