A helicopter with Ukrainian high-ranking officials on board crashed in the Kyiv region

On the morning of January 18, a helicopter with the top management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine went down in Brovary, the Kyiv region.

The crash took place near a kindergarten and a residential building, and the fire broke out after. As of 14:00 Kyiv time, it is known about 17 victims of the catastrophe, including four children. 25 people were injured, 11 children among them.

Update: According to the clarified information from The State Emergency Service of Ukraine as of 15:20, 14 people died in the incident, including a child. 25 people were injured, 11 children among them.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denys Monastyrskyi, his first deputy Yevhen Yenin, the State Secretary of the ministry Yurii Lubkovych, and the helicopter crew died in the crash. The officials were on their way to hot spots in the Kharkiv region. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
