Chernihiv is suffering from a humanitarian catastrophe. There is no electricity, heat, and water, the infrastructure is destroyed, and “green” corridors did not work, as reported by the mayor.


Russian military equipment is approaching the Belarusian border to try to enter Ukraine, said Minister of Internal Affairs Vadym Denysenko on the air of the united telethon. He also called it an alarming signal that Belarusian diplomats had left Ukraine.


Over the past 24 hours in Rubizhne and Sievierodonetsk, three people died and 24 houses were destroyed by Russian shelling, as reported by the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Haidai.

4 russian warships opened heavy rocket fire on Mariupol. The city has been shelled by artillery, tanks and aviation. The russian army is purposefully destroying homes, civil infrastructure and killing thousands of people, as well as blocking evacuation and shooting at civilian vehicles.


200-500 people came out in a protest against Russian occupiers in the town of Berdyansk (Donets region). Russian soldiers fired warning shots, beat, searched and detained some people. The protest did not fully stop. The fate of the detained people is unknown. – Reports by local media (Hromadske)


Russian invading forces kidnapped the deputy mayor of Enerhodar, Ivan Samoydiuk, reports Enerhodar City Council. The town is closest to the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, taken over by russian forces. Locals have been protesting and blocking invading forces since their arrival at the NPP.

Russian invaders have hit more than 500 educational institution since the start of the war: universities, schools, kindergartens, research facilities. This is part of their purposeful destruction of civilian infrastructure with artillery fire and aviation strikes. – Minister of Education and Science


Russia continues to transfer troops to regions near the Ukrainian border. The estimated number of these combat-ready batallions is now at 40 (20,000 troops). Connection was lost with a humanitarian convoy (ambulances, buses for potential evacuation, two vans with 20 tons of humanitarian aid each) in Kharkiv region. The convoy is likely to have been captured by Russian occupying forces. – President’s Office of Ukraine


13 buildings were damaged in an airstrike on the Korosten district of Zhytomyr region on March 20. Preliminary reports say three people were injured. Emergency services are searching for victims and putting out fires. – Parliament of Ukraine


Russian Federation army shelled private houses in Trostyanets, in the Sumy region, using heavy artillery. Three elderly persons were killed, Prosecutor’s Office of the Sumy region reported.

On May 2, 2024, Russia hit the “Nova Poshta” postal terminal in Odesa with missiles. Approximately 904 shipments worth ₴3 million were destroyed. The employees hid in the bomb shelter on time and were not harmed.
