On December 16, the European Union agreed on the 9th sanctions package against the Russian Federation. It focuses on tech, finance, and media to push the Russian economy and war machine further off the rails. Moreover, the new sanctions package includes almost 200 Russian individuals and entities involved in attacks on civilians & kidnapping of children in Ukraine, as well as 3 Russian banks and 4 propagandist TV channels. On December 16, the Federal Council of Switzerland adopted further sanctions against Russia. In particular, new sanctions relate to a price cap on Russian crude oil and petroleum products.
