On June 9, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with drones and cruise missiles. Ukrainian defenders shot down 14 enemy UAVs out of 16, including 9 Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 drones, a Russian UAV Lantset, and 4 Orlan-10 and Supercam drones. During the night’s Russian attack, an enemy missile was shot down in the Zhytomyr region. Due to the fallen debris, 4 residential buildings were destroyed and 30 more were damaged in the city of Zviahel. There were casualties among civilians: 1 person was killed, and 3 more were injured. – State Emergency Service of Ukraine


As of June 9, due to Russian military aggression, 487 Ukrainian children have been killed, and 1,009 children have been injured. Most victims among children are from the Donetsk region. Moreover, 391 Ukrainian children were reported missing, and 19,501 were deported. On June 9, Russian troops hit a hospital in the city of Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region with a guided bomb. Due to the attack, 2 people were killed, and 3 more were injured. – Yurii Malashko, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration


On June 9, the US government announced a new military aid package for Ukraine of $2,1 billion.
