On May 9, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with cruise missiles. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 8 out of 8 «Kalibr» enemy missiles and 15 out of 17 enemy missiles Kh-101/Kh-555 in different regions of Ukraine. – Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine


During the night’s Russian missile attack, a fragment of a downed enemy missile fell on a private yard in the Holosiivskyi district in Kyiv. Missile debris was also found on the roadway in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital. There are no casualties or destruction. In addition, in one of the communities of the Kyiv region, the roof of a private residential building and an outbuilding were damaged by missile debris. Debris of a downed Russian missile also fell on a four-story residential building in Dnipro, the Dnipropetrovsk region. The roof and ceilings of several apartments were damaged. At night, Russian troops attacked the Cherkasy region: a fire broke out at the site of the missile hit. The blast wave damaged the windows of a local municipal institution. There are no casualties. – Ihor Taburets, Head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration


Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, 480 Ukrainian children have been killed, and 967 children have been injured. Most victims among children are from the Donetsk region. Moreover, 405 Ukrainian children were reported missing, and 19,393 were deported. At the same time, 12,189 Ukrainian children were found, and 364 returned home. – Prosecutor General’s Office

On May 9, the US government announced a new military aid package for Ukraine of $1,2 billion.
