The Collection of War Photos
Viacheslav Ratynskyi, 34, is a Ukrainian photo reporter and documentary photographer. Born in Zhytomyr, he has been living and working in Kyiv for the last ten years and graduated from the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv with a major in journalism. Viacheslav Ratynskyi created the documentary photo story “100 Moments of the Revolution of Dignity” about the events on Euromaidan in Kyiv in 2014.
The photographer has been covering the Russian war against Ukraine since the first hours of the full-scale invasion. Viacheslav has been working as a photojournalist for Reuters and contributing photos for many international and Ukrainian media (Time, The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The New York Times, etc.).
In his work, Ratynskyi explores the impact of war on society’s social and political issues and the lives and problems of Ukrainian youth and children.

The exhumation of bodies from the mass burial place was completed in the city of Izyum of the Kharkiv region, which was liberated from the Russian occupation. A total of 436 bodies were exhumed. Most of them have signs of violent death. Izium, Kharkiv region. September, 2022.
