Yulia crossed the border with Poland on foot, and then walked the road from Kyiv to Irpin’ to pick up her son

On the first day of the war, Yulia was just flying back from Mexico. As her flight to Zhulyany was canceled, she landed in Warsaw and decided by any means possible to pick up her 12-year-old son Misha from a school in Irpin’, near Kyiv.
After crossing the Polish border in only a light jacket, Yulia barely found a driver, as everyone refused to enter Ukraine. She reached Kyiv in 7 hours. From the capital, she walked on foot to Irpin’, which was being bombed by the occupiers. After crossing a blown up bridge, Yulia finally reunited with her son.
We hope the family is safe now.
