Writer and poet Serhii Zhadan is volunteering in Kharkiv

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Serhii has not left the city where he has lived since his student years. From February 24, he has been helping deliver the necessary equipment and humanitarian aid, sharing how Kharkiv lives, and recording interviews with local doctors, volunteers, and artists.

The writer shares his observations and opinions on social media. One of his quotes has already become iconic in this war: “And most importantly, friends, do not forget: history is not just being rewritten today – it is being rewritten in Ukrainian.” Meanwhile, the Polish Academy of Sciences proposed to nominate Serhii for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
