Journalist Oleksandr Zahorodnyi spent 11 days filming news stories on his mobile phone during the fighting near his house in Hostomel

Oleksandr Zahorodnyi is a journalist of the TSN team on 1+1 Channel. He was one of the first reporters to cover the conflict in Donbas in 2014. In 2022, Olexander also witnessed terrible battles: he spent 11 days near Hostomel in the Kyiv region and filmed stories just on his mobile phone. He jumped into a Russian tank that had just been abandoned by soldiers, saw the looters with his own eyes, and grabbed the Yorkshire Terrier Dimon, who had been left behind.

Oleksandr admitted that he could never have imagined that a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine would take place. He thought it was illogical, wrong, and futile, and there was no reason for the war. In the end, it turned out that Oleksandr was wrong: on February 24, the couple saw 4 planes in the sky heading to bomb Hostomel where they lived nearby.
