Defender Vitalii Skakun blew up the bridge and stopped the enemy, sacrificing his own life

Twenty-five-year-old Vitalii Skakun, an engineer in a separate battalion, volunteered to blow up the Henichesk bridge to stop the enemy.

He mined the bridge but didn’t manage to leave. Vitalii got in touch with his sworn brothers when he was about to blow up the bridge. The next thing they heard – was the sound of the explosion. The defender heroically died.

Vitalii was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine posthumously. Light and eternal memory of our hero!
