A scientist from the Institute of Physics Anton helps evacuate people and deliver necessities to hot spots in the Kyiv region

Anton Senenko works at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and lives with his family in Kyiv. When rockets lit up the city on February 24, he decided to stay. Having no military training, the scientist decided to help as a volunteer. In a convoy of several cars, Anton took civilians out of cities within the Kyiv region, as well as delivering needed humanitarian aid.

On March 5, one day after the evacuation from Irpin’, a convoy including Anton’s car came under Russian fire. He and his comrades managed to hide in a bomb shelter. He described the events on social media, and overnight volunteers gave Anton and his friends new cars for transportation.
