A 12-year-old Kyivan became a volunteer at the local field kitchen

From the first day, the girl’s mother Olena spotted a field kitchen in her neighborhood and signed on to help. When she had to stay at home, she cooked in her apartment. Sixth-grader Nastia helped her mom peel vegetables and deliver the meals to the volunteers. After a while, she said that she wanted to be a full-time volunteer – and became the youngest one in her neighborhood.

Now, the 12-year-old schoolgirl and her mom get ready for “work” every morning — Nastia goes to the field kitchen and her mom to the sewing shop where they make military clothes for the front. Even though the young protector eagerly helps her city, she still dreams of returning to her previous life and playing the piano again.
