Ivanna served in the AFU as a communications operator. She was killed by the Russian rocket

A servicewoman Ivanna Zarashchak was killed on May 5, 2022 as a result of a rocket attack on the city of Siversk in the Donetsk region. The woman was 37 years old.

Ivanna was born in the village of Koty, the Lviv region. She spent her childhood and school years there. She became a professional seamstress, a graduate of the Novoyavoriv Higher Vocational School, and eventually worked at a sewing enterprise. The woman loved children above all else, and wanted to help them at every opportunity.

In 2020, Ivanna decided to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to serve in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo of Galicia. The woman left for combat missions in the Luhansk region.

According to her cousin Nadia, Ivanna was very friendly, cheerful and hardworking. She never gave up and used to amaze people as nothing seemed to stop her.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Zarashchak kept on performing her military duty in the Donetsk region as a communications operator. With no hesitation, she simply did what she thought was right on an equal footing with men. Ivanna always knew how to cheer people up even in the hardest times. Despite life’s difficulties, she brought positive energy and hope for the best. Ivanna dreamed of coming back home with a victory.

The servicewoman was buried in her home village in the Lviv region. She left behind her mother, aunt, cousins, nephews. The woman did not have time to set up her own family and home.
