A Russian drone destroyed 15 apartments in a residential building in Sumy
On the night of March 13, Russia attacked Sumy with a “Shahed” drone. As a result, a five-story residential building was hit and partially collapsed. 30 apartments were damaged, 15 of them, from the 2nd to the 5th floors, were destroyed, and a fire broke out.
As of the morning of March 13, according to preliminary information, ten people were rescued from the rubble. 8 victims received injuries of varying degrees; 3 of them were hospitalized, reported the Sumy City Council. Rescue and search operations continue.
As of 15.45 p.m., Rescuers also unblocked the bodies of two killed victims during the debris removal at the site of a Russian drone attack, informed the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Update: As of March 14, a man’s body was recovered from the rubble. The number of dead victims has increased to three people, reported Suspilne media. 14 more people were injured due to the Russian drone attack.
“Debris removal in Sumy at the site of the Russian “Shahed” hit is still ongoing. It destroyed part of an ordinary residential building (…) All necessary services and equipment were involved. All those affected will receive help. I am grateful to everyone who works for people and helps in rescue operations,” commented President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on another Russian terrorist act.
Later, it became known that due to an enemy drone attack on Sumy, 16 multi-story buildings in the city were left without heat supply.
