On December 13, 2023, around 3:00 a.m., Russian troops launched a missile strike on civilian infrastructure objects in Kyiv with ballistic missiles. Ukrainian defenders successfully destroyed 10 out of 10 enemy air targets. However, fallen debris was recorded in 4 districts of the capital. As a result, residential buildings, a hospital, a kindergarten, and cars were damaged.

Due to the Russian missile attack on Kyiv, 53 people were wounded, including six children, reported the Kyiv City Military Administration. 20 injured victims were hospitalized.

In particular, in the Dniprovskyi district of the capital, the blast wave blew out windows in two residential buildings. Missile debris fell on three more private houses and nearby support facilities, causing partial destruction. Also, the fall of missile fragments was recorded on the roadway, damaging a water supply network.

In the Desnianskyi district, due to falling missile debris, a fire broke out on the 7th floor of a 9-story residential building; 8 cars burned in the yard. A private house caught fire in the Darnytskyi district. In the Holosiivskyi district, there is debris on the roadway without subsequent burning.

“The effectiveness of Western weapons in the hands of Ukrainian soldiers cannot be doubted. But there are victims due to fallen fragments of Russian missiles, and houses were burned. The answer for such actions will find these [Russian – ed.] terrorists, there will be no other way,” commented Andrii Yermak, Head of the Presidential Office.

According to Yermak, the target of the enemy strike was an object of critical infrastructure.

Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated on violating the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

At night on December 13, Ukrainian forces also shot down 10 out of 10 Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 drones used by Russian troops to attack Odesa and the region. One of the downed enemy drones fell on the territory of the municipal car repair facility in Odesa. According to Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, two employees were injured and hospitalized.
