The occupiers brutally shelled a small village in the Zhytomyr region to the west of Kyiv. The shelling damaged a 160 year old wooden church, an architectural monument of national importance.
“This is the genocide of the Ukrainian nation, the deliberate destruction of our history by the enemy,” said Olga Rutkovska, a member of the Society for the Protection of History.
After the shelling, the church was almost completely destroyed. Only the bell tower survived. Fortunately, no one was killed during this attack.
